Pricing
How pricing works
We do not print prices here. Two bathrooms are never the same, and a number on a website would be a guess. This is what decides the price and when you get it.
What moves the price
The size of the room, whether the floor changes, the materials, the access to the house, the age of the house and the permits.
A curbless shower costs more than a low-step one because of the floor
Moving a toilet or a wall costs more than leaving it
A house built before 1978 adds steps for dust and paint, covered in the FAQ
What the estimate includes
A scope room by room, the allowances we have set, the timeline and who is on site.
Included: labor, materials, cleanup and permits we pull
Not included: permit fees, repairs behind walls, new floors in the rest of the room, medical equipment
What happens at the walk-through
Two of us come, we measure and photograph, and your parent leads. The visit has a fee, quoted when you book.
It is a visit with a written report, not a sales call
Paying
A deposit and payments tied to finished stages, set out in your written contract. Minnesota rules on deposits apply.
The schedule is in the contract before you sign
Changes
If we find something behind a wall, we stop, show you photos and write a change order with its price before we go on.
Nothing is billed that you have not seen and agreed to
When you get the number
In writing, after the walk-through and the report. A fixed price for the scope in it, good for the period it says.
No number is given by phone or text
This page explains how a price is built. It is not an estimate for your house.
When we are not the right call
Small jobs and other people's work
One grab bar or a light fixture
A good handyman can do it, and it will cost you less. We will say so on the phone.
A stair lift or a hospital bed
We do not sell or install medical equipment. We make the house ready for it.
Work that needs a clinician
We build to what a therapist or doctor recommends. We do not decide what your parent needs medically.
Questions
About cost and payment
How much will it cost?
It depends on the size of the room, whether the floor has to change, the materials and the permits. We do not print a price here because two bathrooms are never alike. The pricing page shows how the number is built, and the estimate puts it in writing.
Does Medicare pay for home changes like this?
Original Medicare does not usually pay for home modifications. Some programs may help, depending on income, health and where you live. Your county's aging services office or the state's senior helpline can tell you what applies. We provide a written scope you can send to any program that asks.
What if you find something behind the wall?
We stop, show you photos and write a change order with its price before we go on. Nothing is billed that you have not seen and agreed to in writing.
Want the number for your house?
It starts with a walk-through and a written report. Then the estimate.
